Stillwater Community Living provides person-centred residential supports for adults with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health challenges. We operate community-based homes in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, delivering care that prioritizes dignity, safety, cultural respect, and quality of life.
Our services support individuals who benefit from structured environments that emphasize personalized care, community living, complex needs support, respite services, positive behavioural support, and interdisciplinary clinical oversight. We work collaboratively with individuals, families, guardians, clinicians, and funding partners to promote stability, independence, and meaningful community inclusion.

Licensing and Accreditation (2026 – In Progress)
Placement & Referrals
Stillwater Community Living offers residential placements for adults (18 years and older) with a documented developmental disability and a co-occurring mental health diagnosis (dual diagnosis).
Eligibility
Placements may be considered for individuals who:
- Are eligible for funding through Alberta PDD or AHS Mental Health or Northwest Territories Health and Social Services
- Benefit from a structured, staffed residential environment
- Require support with daily living, emotional regulation, behavioural support, and community participation
Admissions Procedure
All placements follow a formal intake and assessment process that includes:
- Review of clinical, behavioural, and medical history
- Assessment of support needs, risks, and environmental fit
- Interdisciplinary team consultation
- Confirmation of funding authorization
Placement decisions are made collaboratively and emphasize informed consent, person-centred planning, and long-term stability.
Service Limitations
Admission may not be appropriate if:
- The individual requires 24-hour intensive medical or nursing care beyond the scope of residential services
- Support needs present an unmanageable risk to the individual or others
- Required funding authorization is not in place
Transitions and Planning
Transition planning begins at admission and is reviewed regularly. Discharges or transitions are coordinated collaboratively to ensure continuity of care and respectful, supported change.
